The Ark in Hong Kong!

On the eve of the Chinese New Year, the artistic directors of L’Arsenal left for China on January 23 to lay the groundwork for the crew of their latest production, The Ark, which will lands in Hong Kong in few hours.

With the precious collaboration of the Canadian Consulate in China, The Sai Wan Ho Civic Center Theater will present The Ark on February 4th and 5th.

While China celebrates the new year of the Tiger, L’Arsenal is proud to enchant Hong Kong, a metropolis of over 7 million people, with The Ark, a show bearing a message of hope while critically looking at the fragile balance between man and nature.

Alice in Guangzhou!

On the occasion of the Asian Games of 2010, the city of Guangzhou will inaugurate a prestigious new theater: the Guangzhou Opera House, one of the world largest theaters and cutting edge architectural landmarks.

To celebrate the opening of the Guangzhou Opera House, L’Arsenal’s artistic directors have agreed to translate the show Alice (in Wonderland) in Chinese as part of a series of 10 performances that have been selected to be presented in August 2010 at the Guangzhou Opera House.

Being the first time L’Arsenal stages one of its creations in Chinese, the artistic directors dwell into this new adventure with great enthusiasm. For this project, the Guangzhou Opera House and L’Arsenal will join their forces to select a Chinese actress to play the role of Alice. She will be accompanied by 7 musicians from Quebec, who will perform the original composition of Denis Gougeon and Yves Daoust.
